Lenovo ThinkPad E520 running Windows 7.

I'd like to disable the touchpad when there is a USB mouse plugged into the laptop. How do I do that?

If I cannot disable the touchpad based on the presence of a mouse, I'd like to disable the touchpad period. How do I do that?

    Thanks.

    Steve

Most laptops have a software app that controls the touchpad options. It can be disabled from there.

FN + F8 disabled the touchpad on my Lenovo, probably the same for yours but you can check the icons on the function keys or refer to the manual for the correct keys to press.
