I am having the exact problem that kornfused wrote about feb 8 2004, i wonder if he ever figured it out. i can tap f8 and bring up the advanced start mode. i can tap f2 for system settings and f12 brings up reboot. {i know those three keys are the only active keys i have during initial start up, i think that is the wording that pops up when i tap them, i am not close to the computer right now] the screen goes black after windows logo appears. this all started when i tried to install windows xp, the writing and icons were huge and fuzzy so i went into displays, then monitor settings , why i disabled the default monitor is beyond me, {a little knowledge is a dangerous thing}. thanks for any help that can be sent my way, corndog
