disappearing drives

    Win2000. When I started it. drive A and D had suddenly disappeared.What can I do?

    Boot into safe mode, press F8 during boot to see if they show up there.

    I did that and they werent there.

    Is your bios recognizing the devices. If you bios doesn't recognize them, it cannot pass off control to the Operating System.
