Hope that someone has seen this and knows how to solve.
Trying to help a neighbor with her child's computer.
She has a HP 6683 win98 computer. She said it wouldn't play her children's games any more. I found the cd rom was bad-replaced it- it had 64 megs of ram-raised it to 128 megs. Now I find that the computer is only using 2 megs of ram for the on-board video. Original specs were 11 megs of shared video memory. I went into the bios and there is no place to changed the amount of vdeo memory. Updated the bios to the newest available-no change-
Followed Hp faq's(which says to change the settings in the bios-but there are none there) The display on the screen looks fine, is running in 16 bit color, but wants to run games in software mode only.
    Any Help appreciated
I am trying to help her keep expenses down she doesn't want to buy video card.
