Laptop doesn't power up when Power On button is pressed, no lights nothing..dead.
The external power supply is working output is 19V, correct voltage.

Trying to disassemble so I can check the internal power supply, Power On switch, etc.
I've taken all the screws off and I'm at the point to taking the bottom and top bezel off. Now I'm stuck, can't get it apart the area where I'm having the trouble is at the back left hand corner. It feels like theres a screw still holding it in place. I've checked all around and can't see any screw there.

I've used a credit card to run along the opening and there isn't any clips there. Tried pryinng it with a screwdriver, feels very solid being held in place.

Have a photo of the area that I'm having the trouble with.

    Any suggestions much appreciated.

I found a PDF file on the Gateway web site that has instructions for replacing the keyboard on that computer. They include a step for lifting off a cover plate across the top of the keyboard. Not sure if the information will help you or not.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it. I"m trying to get the mobo board off. The DC jack is on the bottom of the board. They're making it hard for people to try and fix it themselves.
