a have a file type that I do not want associated with a program. I originally downloaded this file, hi-lited it, and hit <shift> open with, but know the file will always be looking for that program or any other I choose on my drive. How do I disassociate this file from any program?

the file ends in ".003". I do not want to associate it with any program on my harddrive, but will eventually load a program called HJSPLIT that will look at the beginning thread ".001", and stitch all the files together. Therefore, the .003 cannot be associated with anything

    Hi lemme

    I don't think you have a problem

Put your 001, 002, 003, 004, etc files in the same folder - then put hjsplit.exe in the same folder - double click hjsplit.exe - click join - open the 001 file - click start - the rest of the files will be found and joined if they are in the same folder (it will not matter if they have been previously assigned to another program)
