I started my pc, and i get this error.
"disk boot failure insert system disk and press enter"

    Windows 7 will not load

I have the disc which i assume re-installs windows 7?
Will this delete all my files i currently have on the drive? This is my concern

Please be detailed. I'm still pretty much a noobie to pc's

    Thanks

You have the disk so you can use the "startup repair" feature in 7. Press F8 repeatedly immediately after booting the PC. Then choose startup repair. See if that helps. Sorry, Im not in front of a PC at the moment.

if you at all concerned about existing data on a drive then get the drive out and try to copy the data by adding it as a second drive to another machine

I used the startup repair on the disc but it didn't fix anything
I do get "remove disk or media press any key to restart"

I've disconnected drive 1 and restarted same thing, then drive 2 and same thing

my boot sequence is cdrom, then hard drive
