my laptop can't run Disk Cleanup.

every time i click on the Disk Cleanup in the programs, or double click cleanmgr.exe at the System32 folder, nothing happens except for a cmd prompt window appearing and then disappearing immediately.

when i run cleanmgr.exe on cmd prompt, it says "Program too big to fit in memory".

it doesn't even reach the stage "Select the drive you want to cleanup". nothing really happens.

i tried the stuff here: http://forums.techguy.org/windows-xp/191173-solved-cleanmgr-exe-problem.html where a registry deletion.
but the problem there isn't the same as mine. it says the cleanmgr hangs up at compressing files part.
but the cleanmgr doesn't even start when i do it.

    i tried cleaning my files.
    i tried using other cleaners.
    but still nothing happens.

    Disk Cleanup still doesn't start.

    what do i do?
