    Hi everyone,

Weird double whammy here: I ran Disk Defragmenter on my Windows XP Fujitsu N Series Laptop and it only runs for about a minute before it goes into "Paused for Shadow Volume Copy" and just sits there. Strike one. After scouring the Microsoft tech support site, it says I can disable Shadow Volumes through the Backup utility, but I can not find "Backup" anywhere on my Start>All Programs and couldn't find it by doing a full search of my C drive (though many things came up with "backup" in its name and I may just not know what I'm looking for). Strike 2.

Any solutions and recommendations out there? Thank you very much if so!

    Sincerely,
    Scott

Good idea on the safe mode. Thank you.

Somehow, my Backup shortcut under All Programs is gone. Maybe I inadvertently deleted it at sometime. Could you tell me where your Backup shortcut points to in the file system? Perhaps I could run the program directly and create a new shortcut from there too. Thank you for any info.

go to any folder you would like to do this for..even the backup icon...right click on it...one of your options is to create shortcut...shrink the window so you can see your desktop...drag the icon onto desktop....
