Howdy,

Using Windows Explorer browse to your windows\inf folder.
In there you will find a file called dfrg.inf right click this file, and select Install.

Do you have anything like Diskeeper install on that PC?

Try running it in safe mode with no internet connection. Something may be running in the background preventing it from starting.

If can also use the search function to look for dfrg.inf in the C drive. Find it right click it and choose install...restart your PC and try defrag.

You maybe need to Show Hidden files first

How to Show Hidden Files
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View Tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) and uncheck Hide Extensions for known file option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.

Did you restart the PC after the install?

Do you have the CD with the Full Operating System on it?

If so go Start>>Run type sfc /scannow click OK

Let it run.....you may be ask to put the CD in the drive so keep it handy.
