My sister has a notebook from Dell. She has been trying to reformat her drive, but it will not except taking her CD that came from Dell for reinstalling software.

She is running Windows XP, and she continues to get an error as follows:

"Windows cannot start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem" also says "Could not read from the boot disk check boot path and disk hardware.

If there is anyone out there that has experienced this problem before, can you please write and let me know how to handle it for her? Would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

When you first power up you see a screen that says which key to enter setup. It is usually Del. once there select advanced bios and look for first boot device and set it to cdrom first then esc and f10.
