The "A disk read error" means the computer cannot read the drive that the computer is trying to boot from.

First, double-check and make sure there are no other drives or discs attached/inserted that the computer might be trying to boot from. (In other words, you want the computer to try and boot from the drive it normally should be booting from ... the one with your Operating System [such as Windows] on it).

If still no luck, check and make sure the connections to the main bootup drive are clean and securely connected. To clean the connectors, remove and reinsert them several times.

If still no go, the drive may have failed or is in the process of failing. What is the make and model number of the drive and roughly how old is it?

Kindly ensure that your hard drive is fixed properly by checking the hard drive slot, also do you hear any funny noise from the hard drive?

you might consider reinstalling your OS.
