We got a new PC and put the old one in our sons room. When I booted the old PC this is the only thing that comes up....

If you can read this message windows has successfully initialized this display adapter.

To use this adapter as part of your windows desktop open the display option in the control panel and adjust the settings on the settings tab.

I tried the recovery disk and nothing happened.

I have no idea what has caused this. Please help!

It sounds like Windows thinks you are using Multiple display. Did you format or just install on top?

IF it has been less than 5 days, you might try a scanreg /restore
See if a previous registry will sort this out for you.
TO do that boot and hold the ctrl button until you get the boot menu. Choose Command Prompt only.
    At the C:\>

    Type

    scanreg /restore and press enter
Choose a reg from a date before this happened. All other changes you have made since this date will be lost. Installs will no longer be registered.
