I had my first ever crash , and , am rebuilding . The problem is that now , the screen display on all 4 sides is as if it were magnified. All sides are only showing half of icons taskbar etc. Using 8.1 . I have had this computer for a year with no problem . proTech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2

I haven't yet tried safe mode . To be clear , all was well , until the " crash " . No changes to the monitor. I did lose all files pictures , music etc. I have recovered browsers , and some other things slowly. But , before any of that , the screen error was there . Frustrating to say the least . I will attempt to take a picture just to be clear.

Started in safe mode. The screen display is normal [ as it used to be ] . Screen resolution is the same as in normal mode. Back to normal mode , with still the problem.

you carried out a restore or a recovery
A restore (go back to a previous date and time) should not have lost any of your files
a recovery (using the recovery partition or a DVD/USB ) re-installed windows - and you also have to re-install sometimes, the drivers
chipset, etc

which did you do ?

A full recovery - where you reformatted the drive
and what did you use to do the recovery - a recovery DVD - the recovery partition or ?
