Hey everyone

My display started showing these strange translucent vertical lines across my screen. When i drag windows around, the image stays burned behind it. Bringing down hardware acceleration stopped the redraw problem but the lines are still there.I have an ati radeon 9800 pro. I dont think its my monitor because when i disconnect the cable, the no signal box that floats around the screen looks fine. Also, the garbled text appears on the raid and bios screens at bootup, before windows even loads up. Suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated
Thanx

well looks like my card is fried. brought it to a friends place and got the same **** on his computer.Because its a sapphire ATI, warranty ran out about 6 months ago. My suggestion to people : for the extra 50-100$ buy the Real Ati card instead.your card might last you more than 18 months.Damn!

sorry to hear that..you may want ot look into having proper cooling when having a high end graphics card..try looking into your case and see if you can install any 80mm fans ,,, 80 mm are a standard size ..i dont know if this was the cause ( over heating ) but its better to have it running coll not hot ..
if your in america see this site
http://www.newegg.com
anf if your here in sweden . http://www.webhallen.com
for cheap cases or& or fans
cheers m8 .;)
