hi, i'm new, and don't know much, what i do know is that i need one of these - sis630p.sys - thingy. now i don't know where to get one, and was wondering if one of you good people could point me in the right direction or tell me that i'm totally wrong and let me know what it is i should be looking for. if not, then i'm sorry to have bothered you, and will return to the random beatings i'm giving my flatmate for his ongoing search for new and unusual porn, that put me in this mess, in the first place.

We need to know what your video card is..Make, model etc.
It would also help if you expllain what type of distortion you are getting. It could be something you could set on your monitor???????
Usually when you install the recommended drivers it is a good as gold......

But I thought someone on this site helped you get the drivers already...
Lets try 1 more time...

Go to Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Display Adapter ( click the + sign next to Display Adaptor....
Right click the name under Display Adapter...Thats your video card...then click Properties/Driver...What is the drivers supplier name and what is the driver ver #?

Also , please answer one of my other questions....What type of distortion are you getting and can it be corrected using your controls on your monitor?

It seems you have tried to go through this exercise once today already. I am going to ask the mod to merge your threads. It ain't nice to have more than 1 thread on the same issue. Other people have spent time trying to resolve your issue and now me. Not that I don't mind but...................

hi,

sorry for causing sdo much trouble, yes someone did help me locate a driver, the one currently installed is called sis 630/730 thats what it says on my control panel/device manager etc....but i'm still having display problems, these come in two types.
1, some website backgrounds do not display properly, colours and images appear distorted and different to when i view them on other pc's

2, when i download a certain poker client, the pc informs me that certain images haven't downlaoded or can be displkayed properly, the tech support people at the poker site told me this was also related to my display driver problem.

i apologise if i have behaved incorrectly on this site. i appreciate all your time and help.

Hi and welcome. You should have a driver cd that came with the computer and/or motherboard. Install them off that. I have had problems with downloading newer versions of the SiS drivers.
