display resolution cannot change

i cannot change my display resolution or color resolution from 16 bit, the only options i have r 2 color and 16 bit, how do i get to install/use higher resolution??, i recently formatted my hard drive and had to reinstall win 98, i installed a driver for sound card so i have sound again, but the resolution has me stumped, any suggestions??, thanks a million...shauna

If you don’t have a CD with your video driver on it you will have to download it from the manufacturer’s site.

You normally install it through device manager – right click My Computer>Properties>Device manager and double left click on display adapters and then your card.

yes... microsoft's video drivers don't work as well... if you can find the manufacture's drivers you will be able to select a much higher resolution.
