On start up I get the following error message. "Symantec User Session' "A necessary file could not be loaded. PIF::AlertEng.dll" This has been going on ever since I loaded Norton Internet Security vs 2008. I just loaded the 2010 version and still the window shows up. It doesn't seem to effect my computer but is a nuisance that I would like to make go away.

    I have Windows XP Pro, SP 2 & 3.

    Any suggestions.

You could remove Symantec/Norton completely with the Norton Removal Tool. Run the tool at least twice. Then, reinstall Norton.
