Recently I have noticed that there are some files in my pictures folder that I did not place there and some "look" like my pictures but are oddly lighter in color also they have different file names than my own pics and all have another icon right next to it. They do have one thing in common, they all begin with hpoth. One is hpoth07.tif another is hpothbo7.dat and another yet is named thumbs.db? Any idea of what these weird files are and how they got into my pictures? BTW, I suspected a virus or worm as my computer has been acting very strange so I had the guy format my hd. Unbeknowst to me, he actually backed up my pictures and put them back on my hd. Do I need to be concerned? Thanks guys!

Thats a virus-----take it over to Security so they can help you remove it--my understanding is its a nasty one.

Just so you know that's quite dangerous if it is a virus... Yeah it makes it disappear but it doesn't solve the problem.

I would rather see the problem than have it sitting invisible right in front of my nose. (y)
