I see if you have deleted any of the programs or updates above you do not want to have a good running machine.

If you want to clean your system out what the best way to do this is backup all of your important data which you should have done before you started this and after the backup get your recovery disk and do a full system recovery and re-install Service Pack 2 and all of the update and your security software.

What you are planning on doing I have and know how to do and it is not worth it. Just re-format and re-install.

    Thanks for your response.

Perhaps I was unclear. The HighjackThis log is of the present system, so what you see in the log is all there. I was just considering if there is anything more I could/should uninstall - and had identified the .NET list as the candidates.

The programs I uninstalled were non Microsoft programs. Do you think I should still try to start from scratch?

    Thanks.

You need .Net Framework if you have an ATI video card or drivers.

RIGHT click My Computer, choose Properties, then the Hardware Tab, then click the Device Manager button. When that opens, look for the Display Adapter and click the + to expand it. That will tell you the type of video you have. Either way, there is no reason to remove .NET Framwork.

I agree there is no need to remove .NET however a minor correction. You do not need .NET to install the ati driver only. It is the catalyst control center that needs .NET. You have the option to just install the driver only.
