All my documents are going to my Windows photo gallery and never open. System restore won't help because it's been that way for who knows how long? How can I get my document files back? I did use the System restore after getting a tip on file associations which stopped me from going online altogether---at least I got that going. I have windows Vista. Much appreciation for any help! dody

have you tried changing the default program that opens the documents you need to right click on the document ,click open with & select the program (Wors,Excel,Adobe Reader...) I think you need to change the place where the documents you download go to somewhere in settings,I'm just not sure where it is in Vista ,you could also select click & drag the documents from their location to where u want them 2b .I think you go to start & then documents search for 1 document you know is in the wrong place & find out where that is located (eg- control panel,a certain folder maybe pictures....)Hope that helps

Documents are being saved in the "wrong" folder(s) or the wrong program is trying to open them?
