I have a Buffalo router, but there don't seem to be any wireless repeaters made by them for sale. If I bought one made by another brand, it should work, right?

It should work, just don't buy a Belkin model. It seems their routers with bridge mode only work with other Belkin products.

A reapeater is supposed to just regenerate a signal, any brand "Should" work. switches and routers will also regenerate the signal.
