I hope this is the right place to ask this question...

How long do you need to wait for a domain that has expired to be available again?

    Domain Name:
Registrar: PARAVA NETWORKS INC DBA REGISTRATEYA.COM NAAME.COM
    Whois Server: whois.parava.net
    Referral URL: ยปwww.parava.net
    Name Server: NS.DFWWORLD.COM.NS-NOT-IN-SERVICE.COM
    Name Server: NS1.DFWWORLD.COM.NS-NOT-IN-SERVICE.COM
    Status: REDEMPTIONPERIOD
    Updated Date: 23-jan-2005
    Creation Date: 11-dec-2002
    Expiration Date: 11-dec-2004

    >>> Last update of whois database: Sun, 6 Feb 2005 07:48:57 EST

I left the name of the domain off because a friend asked some questions a few years ago on another board and someone registered the name and tried to charge him for it. I can provide it by IM if it is needed.

    thanks,
    matt

Contact the registrar for that information.

You can backorder a domain that is currently in use, but backordering doesnt always guarantee you the domain when its expiration is due. I backordered a domain once and 3 days after its expiration date the Administrator for the domain renewed his/her contract with godaddy. So its a gamble I guess. Good Luck!
