    Vista = Pulls out hair.

When I goto get on Youtube and its extremely slow and its usually not that way. And thats the only thing that is being slow.

    my ping is 32.

I went to ipconfig/all. to see that it says media disconnected and Domain.invalid.

I am totally lost and for a paper I am doing I need to be on Youtube so this is an inconvenience. D:

Soooo I'm a bit lost. You say you can get on youtube but it's slow, yet when you do ipconfig /all it says media disconnected?

That would imply you have no internet connection at all. I may be off base because it's a bit late...

Also if you're using Internet Explorer feel free to ditch that slow boat and hit up firefox or google chrome. IE tends to be quite a bit slower on media sites.

I use firefox. its really odd.

I am not quite sure what could be going on with the router.

or if its my computer. Its a wireless connection and it doesn't show it booting me at all. This is what I get on ipconfig.

The domain.invalid indication is not significant, some modems and routers provide that indication.

    Please do this.

    Try these simple tests.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD (COMMAND for W98/WME) to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands one at a time, followed by the Enter key:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

    PING <computer_IP_address>

    PING <default_gateway_address>

    PING <dns_servers>

    PING 206.190.60.37

    PING yahoo.com

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

<computer_IP_address> - The IP Address of your computer, obtained from the IPCONFIG command above.

<default_gateway_address> - The IP address of the Default Gateway, obtained from the IPCONFIG command above.

<dns_servers> - The IP address of the first (or only) address for DNS Servers, obtained from the IPCONFIG command above.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

The Media Disconnected is a non-issue, they're only for the IPv6 specific tunnel adapters. Your wireless link is working normally.

Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.

The link to post is near the top of the page and looks like:

If you wish to post this result to a forum, please copy/paste this URL
http://www.dslreports.com/linequality/nil/2357195 <- sample only, yours will obviously be different!
and your IP will be disguised.

    Copy/paste that link here.

Note: You will have to enable PING (ICMP) request response either in your router (if you have one), or in your computer's firewall for direct modem connections. This is very important to get the most important part of the test to run.

The quality server is currently offline.
Pending tests (30) will complete when it restarts.

Sorry! there are 30 tests queued up.
Until some complete, we cannot accept any more line test requests
    .

Sadness. D: I guess it will be a while til I can get this to you. or if you know anyother sites.

That's the only site of it's type I know of. It's normally available, just wait a day and try it again. :)

You are having line quality issues. I'd try a wired connection and run those tests a couple of times, see if you get clean results. We need to narrow this down to wireless issues or some other issue like ISP/modem.

I updated my firmware. and checked all my channels. channel 6 works best. But there still is a large delay. media is working. maybe I am missing some settings?

Did you try a wired connection? I want to make sure we narrow this down to wireless or other causes before we spend a lot of time chasing phantoms. :)

I have no way for a Ethernet cable to get up here. But everyone here uses wireless.
