Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron running on windows 7 and lately everytime I try to double click on any icon or program a windows pops up saying "Are you sure you want to move this item/program to the recycle bin?", and it keeps opening windows with the same message for a while. Does anybody has a possible solution for this problem?. I have avg antivirus running, spybot and another program, none have found anything wrong in the laptop.

Try it on a few different types of programs and shortcuts to be sure that it really does the same thing on all programs. Does it do it on pictures, music, videos, or just programs?

Right-click a file that does this and see what it says opens that file type in its Properties.

It happens with any icon/program I double click, it opens like 40 windows with the same message and after I close those it doesn't happen again until the next time I turn off and on my computer.

Sounds like you are infected. You may want to start by checking for malware and cleaning up your machine.

It is still very likely that you are infected. Especially if you run more than one in real-time, your protection may not work properly since they will interfere with one another and allow infections through. Antivirus applications only catch around 20% of infections, so you most likely still have one. The fact that the problem starts after using the machine for a while would seem to indicate something operating in the background.

OK. Let's try fixing it and see if it stays that way.

When you right-click a file, what is written in bold at the top? Is it the same for all files?

I have the "Open" option written in bold for all files when I right click. I have to make clear that the problem happens when I double click (on icons) or just click (on files).

OK. Is your machine set for single-clicks to open files, with an underline like a web page, or do you double-click to start a program?

If you use the Open option on the menu, does the delete dialog come up?

(By the way, do you have any System Restore points from before the problem?)

No my machine it is not set for single clicks to run programs, I have to double click.
If I use the Open option instead of double click the delete option doesn't show. I have no restore point point before the problem.

Several of us here use and or recommend the following security programs.
Anti Virus: Avast, Avira (Use only 1 anti Virus)
    Malware: Malwarebytes,. Super Anti spyware

Some suggest using Microsoft security essentials rather than any of the above. I believe it contains protection for each of the above.

Tried Super Antivirus and Malwarebytes before nothing was found. I'm going to try Microsoft Security Essencials. The antivirus I have installed is AGV.
