I added the option for Quick Lunch Icons and now my task bar is double sized and I can's seem to reduce it. I tried to go to the edge and drag it to the smaller single size but it still will not become smaller. Nothing I do seems to make it smaller.

Any ideas???

right click on taskbar. make sure that 'lock the taskbar' is unchecked. look for a 'divider' (not hard to miss). grab it and move down. this should shrink your task bar. then do the reverse of the above to 'lock the taskbar'.

you could just disable the quicklaunch bar (in some cases, it can make explorer.exe use upto 2MB less memory

try anyone or all of these

right click the taskbar, select lock taskbar (to remove the tick)

Alongside the word start should be a dotted line
Move the mouse to that line so that it turns into a double arrow.

Left click and while holding the buton down, slowly drag that line towards the clock
Once they have swapped back over, release the mouse buton and lock the taskbar again….

right click the taskbar, select lock taskbar (to remove the tick)

place the mouse at the top of the taskbar until it's a double arrow

then click the left mouse button ,hold the button down and drag the line to make the bar single line

if that doesn't work

again make sure there is no tick alongside lock the taskbar

Move it slowly (it may take a few attempts to get it right)

Once they have swapped back over (the quick launch icons),or taskbar is normal size release the mouse buton and lock the taskbar again
