    Have a newer Intel based system that I wish to use Linux. Got this. ~~https://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/#stable Burnt the first disc and trying to understand why it wont start to install after I told cmos to boot only from cd. Using the first disc. Wont start. I wish to run a pod cast and I want to use Linux as it is light weight. I wish for major loving help. Thank you. Just been a rough week trying to set up a goth rock pod cast. Thanks.

    I burnt the images to discs and I am not an entry level person, (although I must be still if the image on disc one is not booting.) Not sure what I did wrong.

    I've edited the title of your thread. There's no need to use such language when posting for assistance on a family friendly technical support web site. Thanks for understanding.

    Was looking into trying out= https://unetbootin.github.io/ Just not sure why the first image of the version of Linux wont start/boot selected from bios via cd rom. Odd. Trying this today for anyone following and I used the windows version on a win7 computer although it is a Linux image.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Update
    going to use https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop/thank-you?country=US&version=18.04.3&architecture=amd64 (Ubuntu) since I had issues with the other os. Wiping a flash drive. Just not sure why I keep getting a black screen after the blue Linux installation screen. Wondering if that version of linux just didn't like my hardware. Oh, that version being Debian surely.
    Surely. I think that's a bit hyperbolic but your censorship, not mine. Thanks! I appreciate everyone else's positive input. :~)
    If you have created the DVD correctly, you should be able to boot it. Then choose Try Ubuntu. See if that works.
    Yeah, it reads from usb and to a blue screen with a selection, but it seems not to like maybe my graphics card? It reboots then says "heck no!" So, I might try a different version of Ubuntu. I have a 64 bit system, Intel.
    You just don't know when to quit. That's earned you another time-out. Next one you're out the door.
