when i try to download anything now, i get taken to an internet page that has a blank white page and a funny little icon in the top left corner, when i click on the page for more info it says "there is no viewer available for the type of object you are trying to open. The available info is

available address of object: blah blah blah

    content type: application/octet-stream

Possible location of view: ActiveX Gallery

Do you want to go to this location to download a viewer for this type of object?

when i say yes i have no idea where i am or what i am supposed to get.

I do not even get to the point of the dowload where i am asked if i want to open it from its current location or to save the file to disk.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

    Try this:

Create a new Text file on you desktop, and paste the following bold text in to it:

    REGEDIT4

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Plugins\Extension]

    Save as Extension.reg

Doubleclick it, and answer yes, when you're asked whether you want to contents of the file merged into your registry.

    Reboot.

    Good luck,
