i got a dvd writer dvd200i and i what to burn movies and play the on my dvd player in my living room how do i do this and what format do i use avi,divx,vcd,?

downloading movie on the net please help

For starters, there may be copyright issues with the movie that you're downloading, so if it's a motion picture and not someone's home videos, then don't do it.
OK, now that the legal disclaimer has been done.....

They have a great newbie section for encoding your home movies, video capture etc...
