downloading problems

I've got windows ME and use netscape 7.1. I've been having problems with downloading. when i click on a link to download nothing happens. very recently the download manager came up and everything was great but for the past month , nothing. any ideas.

try right clicking on the download link ...'save target as'
or why don't u use a download manager like DAP ??
