Hi, hoping someone can help me with this problem. I have researched on You Tube and the only help I see there is how to restore your download folder.
This is not my problem. I have that folder. When I download docs/files it does download but then I can't find them on my computer.
Sorry, but I cannot download your SysInfo utility because of this problem
P.S. I don't know if this has anything to do with low memory. My laptop crashes now and then if I have too many windows open but I restart it and it's ok. Would appreciate any help, thank you.
    Windows 8.1
    Inspiron laptop 15R
    Chrome Browser

I've never used Chrome but have you tried another browser just as a test?

That was a bandaid solution though. You may at some time has had them sent somewhere else.

In Chrome click on the three dots - Settins - then click on Advanced - under Downloads does it show a different location for the download folder?

Also, look in This PC - Downloads and see if they are there.

In Windows 7 (I don't know 8 nor 8.1) I select users, then my username on a computer and there is a Downloads folder under my username. Check in there to see if anything is in that folder.

There is a folder for Documents, Pictures, Music and Video so perhaps some downloads are in those 4 folders too.

By default, the downloads you do in Chrome goes to the active users Download folder.

To confirm where Chrome is set to download to, this is what you should see when you go into settings:

Alternatively you can view your downloads in Chrome by pressing CTRL and J together to see the downloaded files.

Then you can click Show in Folder to see the actual folder:
