Dram light always on

Jan 2, 2001
BTW here is how to properly install a new video card;
1 Old card still installed, go to the support site for your new card ie nvidia or AMD. Download the latest driver
2 Old card still installed, uninstall ALL software based on the old card ie driver, any suite, any monitoring software, etc. Do not reboot when prompted; just tell it later
3 Shutdown and remove the pw cord from the rear of the pw supply. Hit the ON button 2~3 times. This removes any residual charge from the pw supply capacitors. Disconnect any pw connections, monitor, etc from the old card. Depress the release latch and pull the card out. Install the new card and make any connections as necessary
4 Replace the pw cord on the pw supply and pw ON. Install the driver you downloaded in step #1. Now reboot when prompted
Failure to use the above procedure, can result in ESD to your system. Modern motherboards have pw applied ALL of the time; even when the system is OFF. This is how you can charge a cellphone when the system is OFF or how you see RGB lights when the system is OFF.
