My desktop is this ugly grey color and it won't let me change it what so ever. If anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it :)

You mean your Desktop Tab is missing in the Display Properties?

If so, try this:

Start - Run - type "regedit" [without the quotes], and press Enter.

Now navigate here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\

1. Back it up, just in case:
- Highlight "Policies"
- FILE - EXPORT
- Name it what you want, and save it in a folder of your choice.

2. Now, Delete the SYSTEM folder under properties.

3. Go into the EXPLORER folder, and delete the "noactivedesktop" key.

Exit regedit, and reboot.

See if that works.
