Driver Problem for XP Canoscan 630U

Sorry guys but I'm really going nuts. Just got a new PC with XP. Have a Canon Scanner Scanocan 630U. I know it has something to do with the driver(s). Have the new drivers sitting on my desktop. Tried to follow the instructions on the Canon site, well that doesn't work like it should. Anyone have any experience with this? PLEASE give me some straight forward instructions.
