OK, having a couple issues with one of our computers at work.

First is this message:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. We haven't downloaded any hardware or software to my knowledge.

Next, on the same computer we are unable to do a defrag and we can't download any updates from Windows.

Sounds like it's kind of messed up, eh?

Any help would be appreciated.

In my experience that error is often related to some kind of hardware issue.

What operating system is your work computer using? That bit of information will be helpful in figuring
out what could be causing the problem.

Have you scanned the computer for viruses, trojans and other malware recently, using a good--currently updated antivirus program?

PROCESS_NAME: googleearth.exe
Probably caused by afd.sys - which is a Windows file.

afd.sys Windows process - What is it?
http://www.file.net/process/afd.sys.html

Do you use GoogleEarth.?

Check Device Manager
Click Start button>run>type
devmgmt.msc

Check for any yellow exclamation marks.
A driver may need updating.
Could be your network card!

Did the Device Manager and didn't see any yellow exclamation marks. Do I need to get this afd.sys file? If so, how? Should I delete Google Earth?

Minidump report linked it to Google Earth and afd.sys.
But afd.sys is usually linked to networking - no yellow exclamation marks in device manager against networking?

I'd remove the above and see if that stops the Blue Screen.

I'd remove googleearth.exe and see if that helps.

When do you get the blue screen?

we come in of a morning and it's on the screen. Does the fact that I can't run a de-frag give any additional clues?

Defrag not connected to the blue screen.
More importantly - Windows updates - what happens when you try and update?
