Hi to all. I am 78 years old, all I do with my life is grow wonderful vegetables, and play with my computer. I have my good computer hooked up to a second old Dell computer onto one monitor with a KVM switch. This being the case, I format my computer and try new Windows systems, and software that friends loan me to try for the fun of it!
Now I am using as a trial, Windows Crystal, but it does not have a driver for my SoundBlaster audio card. But another friend has loaned me a CD with,it says, every Windows XP driver there is. I was told to copy it into the root system, but it wont work. There must be a 1000 files in it, I made a driver folder in the root system, did copy and paste, and half way through it stops. The CD is about 400mb, I have 12 Gbs spare!
There is nothing wrong with the sound card, I have my own legal XP Prof, and if I install that the sound works.
So how to I get the computer to grab the driver from the CD?
Thanks for any help. Cheerio, and have a nice day.
