Recently, when i perform a search, when I find the appropriate item, if I click on the heading "People also ask", no dropdown alternatives appear. In other words there are no additional items offered. Previously it used to give me other items to look at.
I have done the usual cache and cookies clearing in case that might help, without success.

What type of search are you trying?

What are you searching for?

I just search for something using Bing as my search engine - for example if I entered "How do I boil an egg" or something equally simple, it gives me various answers and then states "People are also asking.." If I click on any of the options, nothing happens, whereas previously I would receive more answers.

And what browser are you using?

You should always provide this information every time you start a new thread as we can't be expected to always remember.

Also, a screenshot would be helpful.

I jsut tried it in Firefox and it didn't work either because I had bing.com blocked with NoScript. Once I allowed it then it worked. It could be you're blocking a javascript from running in your browser.

Continuing to use Google Chrome.

Screenshot as suggested - although you have probably found the same on your system, using Firefox.

Clicking on any of the options in "People also Ask" does not allow any dropdowns. (And I wouldn't know how to "unblock a JavaScript from running in my browser!"

In Chrome click on the 3 dots and go to Settings then at the bottom click on "Advanced" then go to "Privacy and Security" and click Content settings then Javascript. See if it's turned off or on there.

After "Privacy & Security" no "Content Settings" but "Site Settings" which shows "JavaScript" as "Allowed".

So something else is blocking it, perhaps a security program. What security do you have?

If you mean Windows Security, under "Firewall protection", then "Domain Network, Private Network and Public Network" all show "Firewall in On" (???)

Well that's one thing but is Windows Security all you have? If so, that's fine but do you have a third-party anti-virus?

What extensions do you see in Chrome? Click on the three dots - more tools - extensions and list what you see there please.

Extensions listed as : Adblock, Adblock Plus, Bing Homepage, Bing Search Engine, Block Sender, Google Docs Offline, Notifier for Gmail, uBlock Origin, Chrome Apps, Sheets and Slides. Then - listed under Virus Protection - there are 19 "Current Threats, all showing "Low". I don't knew what any of these mean!!

Do you need three ad blockers?

Please post a screenshot of what you're seeing regarding those current threats.

Well, Karen! - I duly deleted two of the three ad blockers ( I hated not being able to read the newspapers without having to be inundated with advertising, hence the threefold attack on that.) So now I only have the one, and the result has been that I can now hit the "People also Ask "" button and see the results via dropdowns! So that makes me happier!.

As to the security threats I attach a screenshot of as many of them that can show on one screen on my PC.

Best regards. D.

That's great! 👍

It looks like you picked up some Potentially Unwanted Applications. Have you ever used MalwareBytes? If you're familiar with it I would download the free version and let it handle whatever it finds.
