Dsound.dll And Other Problems

My Computer Stopped Allowing Me To Down Load My Financial Info From The Bank Into My Money Program. It Also Won't Let Me Open Several Of My Programs (outlook, Excel, Etc.) My Son Said That The Sound Was Gone And He Tried To Download Dsound.dll Because He Got A Error Message Stating That It Was Missing.what Could Be Wrong? Help

Sorry, out of town. Have you tried using System Restore?
Start, accessories, system tools, system restore.
Restore your system to a date before your son did his download.
