I have a dual band wireless router with 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz using the N standard. I am purchasing a laptop soon. What kind of wireless card will I need to access the the 5.0ghz frequencies? Do I need to have a dual band wireless card or will just a N standard wireless card suffice to see the 5.0 ghz? My work laptop with a "G" wireless card recognizes the 2.4ghz band only, which makes sense.

It would be an 802.11n card. 802.11a also uses the 5.8ghz band, but that's not exactly popular anymore. :)

Thanks. Glad you confirmed this because I was having trouble finding OEM offering a dual band card option.
