I have a computer that came with Vista, and I wanted to dual boot with XP, just because Vista fails at being compatible with a lot of the stuff I use. So I got this guide http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-vista-xp-vista-already-1946.htmluide (after step 2 there are more pages for the next steps)

All was going good untill I got to the part where I had to install the boot screen right. See the problem is now that Vista is on one partition and XP is on the other, XP is the only operating system that boots. This was to be expected like it said in the tutorial, so I wasn't worried. The problem is at step 3 where I open the command prompt to type in Bootrec.exe /fixMBR and Bootrec.exe /fixBoot. When I do the command Bootrec.exe /fixMBR it works like it was supposed to, but when I follow up with Bootrec.exe /fixBoot it doesn't work. It said to make sure that all drivers are loaded and the volume is not corrupt. Is there a way I can fix this?

I just need it so the boot screen comes up because as of right now I can't boot into Vista because XP doesn't recognize it. Any suggestions on what to do? At this point I don't even care if I have xp or not, I just want to get vista to boot. I am trying diskpatch, but I am not really sure what to do...

On a side note, I installed Windows XP Pro, and can't get the internet to work on it, any tips?
