    Hello everryone!
I am running Windows XP and would really like to share the hard drive with another OS "Linux" and dual boot. Trouble is i don't have a clue so would appreciate any help or even a tutorial that this old git can follow. Thanks folks

Hello there i see you would like to dual boot with another operating system, this is a rather simple process.
Choose which operating system you would like to dual boot with windows (in your case this is Ubuntu)

Next boot off the Ubuntu live cd and wait till it enters the main desktop where it gives you the option to install it.

Then just follow the instructions, thats all I did and it worked fine.

When you come to the bit where you need to partition let Ubuntu do it automatically as i think that it does have that feature.

When you have installed it and rebooted you will get a grub loading message then you will get the chance to boot windows xp or Ubuntu and away you go.

Let us know how far you get and we will try and help
