I'm trying to copy my daughters home videos recorded on an analog SONY camcorder which can't be copied directly to computer. I've borrowed a Funai SV2000 VCR to DVD burner to do this. Not having any luck with burning the files directly to DVD, I am first copying them to the VCR side then trying to burn them to DVD. The first time I tried dubbing to the DVD side, it went for 20 minutes then stopped. I then had to put in a new DVD (I'm using DVD-RW disks) and started again. This time it went for 15 minutes then the next one was 16 minutes and now I am getting anywhere from 55 seconds to 2 and a half minutes before it stops. It keeps giving me an E25 error msg which is "Copy prohibited program" which, of course, it isn't. It doesn't hesitate to start dubbing again with a new DVD, but only for a short while.

I thought it might be the DVD-RW so tried with a regular DVD-R, but that one only went just over 8 minutes. Would appreciate any suggestions. I can't find anything online except for people getting this message when they were trying to copy protected movies. Duh!

    Thanks for any help

    First Name:
My first thought would be to use a quality media. For SL DVD, Verbatim or Taio Yuden. For DL DVD, Verbatim.

Aside from that, check the user manual for the exact brand/type of media supported. Standalone media players, especially burners, are very picky about the brand/type of media they support. And most have issues with RW media.

Thanks so much for you reply. I actually found that I can now record them with the DVD burner. Not sure why I couldn't earlier, but decided to give it another try and it is working for me to burn them to DVD-RW disks.

Again, thank you for taking the time to try to help me out.
