My DVD -+RW is acting the same way. It all of a sudden stopped burning blank DVDs. The DVD-Rom is almost 2 years old. It reads DVDs and CDs with data, but no blank DVDs. Without a DVD in the drive, My Computer lists that drive as a DVD-RW drive, when I insert a blank DVD, My Computer turns that drive into a CD Drive. If I double click the drive, it says "no disk inserted", but if I press "eject disk" it ejects the disk. I don't understand why all of a sudden it doesn't recognize blank DVDs, any help would be much appreciated!

I used the Nero InfoTool, it found my drive but also said there was no disk in the drive, when a blank DVD was inserted.

I've been using the same DVDs now for a couple months, FujiFilm, and haven't had problems ever before.

Why is my computer not recognizing a Blank DVD????

Have you opened the tower and verified the connections are snug on the DVD drive?
Blown out the dust? Debugged it? :D
