dvd/cd combo in laptop

    Hello, Ive been having some trouble with my hp laptop dvd burner/cd burner....It will take 15/20 minutes to read any type of dvd/cd, also sometimes it want read any dvd..it also slows the computer when reading dvd/cds...Also no knew software/settings where changed before the problem started

    Here is the specs you might need to help me..

    The laptop is a hp dv7,

    TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633L

    Windows vista 64bit

    Ive also checked some basics like

    Dma is checked

    Be sure the laser head is clean

    disabled and restarted the device worked good for a while

    As for drivers or firmware..i have read that windows takes care of it...i googled to see if there was a driver from the makers but there website only had a driver listed for dos windows 3.1.....
