Howdy--
I have an HP Pavilion A220N with a CD ROM drive and a DVD Drive. Noticed during power up the DVD drive seems to be going back and forth like it is looking for a DVD disc. The computer would not boot up at all. I was able to hit F1 during the power up and took the DVD drive out of the start up routine. The PC is working, but I keep hearing the motor on the DVD drive going back and forth. Can't tell if its the DVD player or the eject motor (the one that causes the tray to roll out in order to put in a DVD.) I hit the button on the DVD drive several times to get it to open and nothing happens. It does seem like the motor hesitates when I push the button to open the tray.
Is there a command I can use to stop the motor from trying to open the tray?
