Hi there. In my old PC I had this DVD Drive: hl dt st dvdrwbd gbc h20n From a Dell XPS 420. Built a new machine and put the dive in it and now all it can read is stuff like software disks or PC game discs. Anyone know what to do?

VLC can play just about any movie file. Free download.
It is also possible your drive has failed. A dvd drive uses different lasers for reading CDs and DVDs. One can work fine and the other not work. DVD burners are cheap; usually $20 or so at newegg. If downloading and installing VLC does not fix your problem, simply replace the drive.
