    I have Windows XP Home
with Roxio 6 (Lightscribe) burning program etc.,
    Windows Media 11
    Audigy 2 Sound Card.

I have just had to do a complete Reinstall with all the usual hassles but everything seems OK now.
However, I tried to play a DVD in the HP DVD 940 Drive AND the Toshiba DVD ROM SD M1712 Drive but although the films play OK - there is no sound.

    CDs play just fine.

Should I be looking to tick or enable a box somewhere?

    Many thanks for any help

    SS

    Hi,

What software are you using to play the DVD's?

If you go "Run, devmgmt.msc, and hit "enter" do you see any yellow "?" in Device Manager?
