About 3 Hours ago my DVD player stopped working. Doesn't matter what kind of disk I put in, it starts to read (Green Light), then the light starts flashing Red. Nothing appears after that. Is it dead ?.

The surest way to tell is to install the DVD player into another computer. You don't have to completely mount it; just connect the power and IDE cable and see if it works there.

Of course, you will have to be sure the DVD drives's jumper is set to master or slave, whichever is appropriate.
