DVD-RW Dying?

I have been having some issues with my Pioneer DVD-+RW (DVR-106D) for the last few days.
When I burn a disc with Nero, I also verify the disc after burning. The verify work out fine, but when I immediately put the disc back in to read it, I cannot read the disc at all. The PC doesn't even recognise the disc.
I have tried reading the disc in a very old DVD-ROM drive (Aopen DVD-9632) and it reads fine. This drive has been my old faithfull as it will read bad discs OK.

Does this most likely mean my drive is on it's last legs? What is a good drive to go for to replace it if it is dying? Another Pioneer?

Thanks

Howdy,

Try uninstalling Nero and restarting the PC and then re-installing Nero and apply any Nero updates...restart the PC.....this worked for me with a similar problem.
That seems to have done the trick. I have burnt 3 discs successfully and can read them after.

Thanks
