Dvd Writer Not Reading A Blank Disk?

    Hi, Hope Someone Can Help, I`m No Expert And I Hope Any Answer Will Be Easy To Follow.
    I Have A Tiny Computers Amd Athlon 64 Processor 3400+, 2.20ghz, 1.00gb Ram. Untill A Couple Of Days Ago I Was Able To Write To My Usual Brand Of Disc (asdas Brand Dvd-r). Just Bough A New Spool And Keep Getting An Error `disc Is Not Writable, Tried A Different Brand Sony Dvd-r, Same Message.
    My Writer Is A Ide\cdrom Sony Dvd Rw Dw-d22a.
    This Problem Only Started After I Accidently Wrote To A Dvd+r Which Was Lying About On My Table. The Writer Write +/-. This Happened Earlier This Year And Only Sorted Its Self Out After I Rebooted Back To The Original Factory Settings................help
